Engineering Course Notes
A growing collection of online course notes, lectures and lab exercises that may be of great interest to hams.

(1) Dr. White,
... http://whites.sdsmt.edu/. Dr. White has a comprehensive set of notes for 5 different courses ... at least one of these should be interesting, understandable and useful for everyone here.
Note especially the EE322 course, which is totally based on the NC40 ... check it out, if new for you. The prof is a ham and he's provided an amazing "Elmer 101"-like sequence of circuit dissection and lab experimentation for this classic QRP rig.
F iles from this one are available directly at … http://www.n5dux.com/ham/files/pdf/NorCal%2040A%20-%20PPTs/(2) Dr. Joe Jesson, W2JEJ, The College of New Jersey
Matlab home version is a good deal at $99 but, as most engineering software, a similar freeware versions exists. Scilab is my favorite similar freeware tool, not an exact clone - but similar- and I am also interested in the latest open-source python compatibles - see https://opensource.com/
alternatives/matlab . As an Adjunct Professor, I teach Matlab as an essential part of many freshman, through senior EE engineering courses and most engineering grads need Matlab skills listed on their resume in order to get hired.A link to a fantastic and comprehensive SDR book (expensive on Amazon but free pdf version supported by Matlab) and another reason to buy the home version of Matlab & the Simulink toolbox ... http://www.desktopsdr.com/download-files
My students do the hands-on problems in class, starting on page 8, in about 10 minutes. Also, I attached an Intro to Matlab guide I ask students to read. No book necessary for the students to buy.
All the student desktops have Matlab pre-loaded and the only common error I get from my students is keeping track which directory their project is on. Most freshman students get the Matlab problems solved w/o any problems,
